Intelligence and Innocence - Best shares in the Indian Share Market

When intelligence and Innocence go together a beauty dawns!

- Sri Sri Ravishankar, Indian Philosopher

What makes a stock/index beautiful? High earnings (intelligence) and Inexpensive Valuations (Innocence)!
The Indian Budget is structurally EPS accretive for Sensex because by offering liberal tax breaks/increasing diposable incomes in the hands of Indian consumers and thereby boosting consumption, AND by seeking to bring down inflation by cutting duties it has paved the way for higher revenues and earnings growth for Sensex Companies.

On the other hand, the Sensex has shed its rich valuations due to sharp fall in the market owing to global concerns.
Sensex at 16339 now trades at 15.6X FY09 (EPS est Rs.1050) with good prospects of earnings upgrades due to budget impetus. Year to date, it is down 21%. What an anomaly? The best hedge against US recession - in fact US recession could usher in the 2nd innings of the India Growth Story - is one of the worst performing markets in Asia this year!
Astute investors who are sitting on cash should now rush in to buy, because there is very little downside. The world is already preparing for a US recession - being forewarned is being forewarned, isn't it?
Soon, the global markets, in my view, will start building expectations of positive impact of a sharp (75 bp) rate cut by FED on March 18 (thus far it focused on the negative causes forcing the rate cut and the impact on US$).

Be that as it may, the Indian market is now looking extremely attractive on both fundamentals and valuations. Time to Buy.
Buy Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India (the entire basket of PSU Banks now provides great value), Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Bajaj, Hero Honda, Reliance Communications, Bharti, DLF Universal & Larsen.

And today in pain I should not be asking GOD 'Why me?'"

The Smartest Unknown Indian Entrepreneur

Entrepreneur Marc Benioff is afraid of him. Venture king Mike Moritz wants to invest in him.

You have never heard of Sridhar Vembu, founder and CEO of AdventNet, the company behind newly launched productivity suite Zoho.

Vembu is a low-profile guy if there ever was one. He is also cheap as hell. Yet, of course, you know that among entrepreneurs, frugality is a virtue. A tremendous virtue.

Vembu has stretched this virtue to extreme limits, and added layers and layers of creativity upon it. The result? A 100%, bootstrapped, $40-million-a-year revenue business that sends $1 million to the bank every month in profits.

Doing what? you might wonder.

Selling network management tools, to be precise. But with a unique twist. Vembu employs 600 people in Chennai, India, and a mere eight in Silicon Valley. Imagine what that does to his cost structure!

Not only that, in India Vembu's operation does not hire engineers with highflying degrees from one of the prestigious India Institutes of Technology, thereby squeezing his cost advantage.

"We hire young professionals whom others disregard," Vembu says. "We don't look at colleges, degrees or grades. Not everyone in India comes from a socio-economic background to get the opportunity to go to a top-ranking engineering school, but many are really smart regardless.

"We even go to poor high schools, and hire those kids who are bright but are not going to college due to pressure to start making money right away," Vembu continues. "They need to support their families. We train them, and in nine months, they produce at the level of college grads. Their resumes are not as marketable, but I tell you, these kids can code just as well as the rest. Often, better.”

Gilchrist - A pure match winner

Gilchrist so called as "Gilli" is one of the greatest match winner the cricketing world has ever seen. He is the one voted as the best australian one day cricketer.

He made his debut in 1996 in india. Gilchrist's moment of glory came in the second of the three finals of The C & U Triangular Series played in early 1998 in Australia. South Africa had won the first Final and Australia was facing a do or die situation. Adam Gilchrist, for the first time in his career, was promoted to the openers slot and he didn't let his team down. He smashed his way towards his first One-Day Century and in the process led Australia to a comfortable victory over the Proteas. Australia went on to win the Triangular Series. Since that fateful day at the Melbourne Cricket Ground 'Gilli' has never looked back.

He featured in hat trick world cup winning campaign of the aussies.
His scores in all the three finals of world cups proves that there is no better player to deliver in the crunch situation other than "gilli".
♪ He smashed a blistering 54 off 32 balls and took the match right away from the Pakistanis during 99 wc final.
♪He made another smashing 57 off 48 balls which gave aussies the momentum to boost the score to 359 in 50 overs aginst india in 03 wc final
♪His best came when he scored 149 off 104 balls on a tricky track against lankans in 07 wc final which helped aussies to prove that they are invincibles.

For a piece of Cricket Trivia, Adam Gilchrist had not experienced a Test Match defeat in his first 15 Test Matches as Australia won all of them. Just as he was the part of the World Cup winning squad, he was also a part of the Australian Test Team that made the World Record for the most successive Test victories. They beat the earlier record of 11 victories by a margin of five, they won 16 in a row twice.

In his debut Ashes Test he smashed a brilliant 152 off 142 balls. It was a typical Gilchrist innings as it was studded with five towering sixes and 15 cracking boundaries. Again, like his previous two centuries, this was also a match-winning knock. Adam Gilchrist is a destroyer and it is his ability to mix brute force with silken timing that makes him such a special Cricketer.

His ability behind the stumps cannot be under mined as well. He has the record for taking the most number of catches in a One-Day International . He is also one of the very few wicket keepers who have affected 10 dismissals in a Test Match.Gilchrist craze among the world is well noticed when he was bidded for 700,000 $ for IPL even after retiring from international cricket.

There is no doubt that the aussies will miss the greatest match winner in their future for sure.Good bye "gilli"!!!
