Who is Best? Sachin Vs Bradman

I feel Sachin is a better player than Bradman. The Stats below Proves my stand.

1.Pressure Handled

Tendulkar played under huge pressure.More than a billion people expecting you to perform in each and every match. He is having fans all over the world unlike Bradman whom is known by very few people compared to sachin.To perform consistently well for 17 years as per expectation is just Brilliant!!! Bradman never had such pressure in his whole career apart from bodyline and in his last innings against England.And just look what pressure can do.His average which usually over 100 in maxium series came down to just 52 in bodyline.When the whole world was watching him to score just 4 runs in his last innings he couldn't even score 4 runs..??? This is what pressure is all about..And Tendulkar goes through such pressure in each every match.Even matches like against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe..With one failure public media everyone in India start criticising the Greats of Indian cricket... Still he is performing consistently..Isn't this amazing.

2.Number of Matches

Bradman played 52 tests in 20 years whereas Sachin played 132 test in 17 years and more than 400 ODI s as if now and still he is playing.In Bradman's time not many matches played.Players easily got 7-8 days of gap in between 2 tests of a series.In one year only 4-5 tests played...There were no ONEDAY matches.Nowdays there are too much of ODI's.Once a series starts..you won't get any chance for rest..5 ODI completes in 12-13days and as soon as ODI series over Test series starts..in between test only 3 days of gap..No rest for players..And they have to play each test. and ODI. In Bradman's times you could get 7-8 days for rest... and total numbers of matches 4-5..and look at today's cricket.. Atleast 10 Test and 30 ODI each year..and in ODI's u can't play cricket wid peace at all..After every ball u have to look to the score board..have to accelerate anytime in the innings many times from the begining...Pressure wid no rest!!

3.Position of Batting

Bradman usually came at no.3 or no.4 and mostly when the score were 176 for 1 or 217 for 2..No pressure!! Just play the natural game and dominate the bowling.Sachin usually came at no.4 and ..Mostly when India lost both the openers.and the scoreboard looks like 20-2!!! And then this best batsman of all time rescue the team.In OneDay Sachin opens and start blazing guns from the begining and then steady in middle overs and again all guns blazing in last 10 overs!!

4.Opposition

Bradman played mostly against England and he got used to that bowling thats why scored over 5000 runs wid an average of around 92.One series against each minnows[India,SouthAfrica and WestIndies were new in cricket that time] and scored heavily against them.Never played in Indian Sub-Continent against Indian spinners.Playing at Indian pitches is never been easy for any batsman.Nowdays Australian thinks Ricky Ponting is the best batsman after Bradman from Australia.Look his record in India, just 14!! Sachin's average in Australia is above 54.Ponting's average in England is just 42 and Sachin's average in England is above 70..well Ricky Ponting is another issue. A batsman is perfect when he scores against really class bowlings.Excluding Larwood Bradman never played any quality bowlers.Whereas Sachin played against Ambrose-Walsh-Bishop,Wasim-Waqar-Akhtar,McGrath-Lee-Gilespie,Donald-Pollock,Warne-Murli and many more.Played not well on own wicket but also played well at all pitches all over the worlds.Just see the class of fielding nowdays,Rhodes,Ponting,Gibbs..The standard of fielding is far more better than it was in that time!!!

Conclusion

I just can't accept Bradman as the all time best batsman just because his stunning average of 99.94. Cricket is not game of only averages..There are many other things should be consider like the standard of playing cricket.Nowdays so much of technology used so that you can take out weak areas of a particular player.The standard of fielding is just too gud.The Media hype and pressure is so much.Lots of cricket played..scoring on every part of the world.Sachin not only play role in batting but also in many other areas like Sachin can spin the bowl like Shane Warne Sachin never affraid of taking responsibilties.Tendulkar took the ball from Azhar and Kapil in Hero Cup Semifinal and bowled the last over and not led the SouthAfrica to score 6 runs to win the match.Just imagine if those runs were scored.Public and Media of India pheewww... But still then Sachin ready to take other burdens and pressure on themseleves...Tendulkar one of the finest outfielder and his throws from boudries always flat and just over the stumps..

this is how I think.I love watching Sachin playing . plays backfoot punch and plays long off drive, plays upper cut over the thirdman, plays pull shot. plays beautiful straight drive on his toes , plays classical front foot cover drive..ummm yummmmy to watch!!!

Good Bye Shaun Pollock.....You are the best

Shaun Pollock, South Africa’s leading Test and ODI wicket taker, will retire from international cricket on 3rd Feb. The recently completed Test match against the West Indies was his final Test and the ongoing ODI series will be his last ODI.

"If ever there is a bowler any young aspiring cricketer wants to emulate it is Shaun Pollock. South Africa should be proud to have had an athlete of his calibre. He was such a credit to world cricket it's unbelievable" Kapil Dev on polly's retirement.

Shaun Pollock has had many highlights and milestones in his career, he is South Africa’s leading Test wicket taker, with421 wickets at 23,11 with best figures of 7/87 and match figures of 10/147, both against Australia, has 2 Test hundreds, against Sri Lanka and the West Indies, and is unlucky not to have a third as he scored one against India and a match that lost its Test status after India fielded a banned player, his batting average of 32,31 with 16 fifties and the 2 hundreds, coupled with his bowling, makes him one of the leading Test all rounders of all time, his superb ODI bowling figures of 387 wickets at 24,54 in 298 games, at an unbelievable economy rate of 3,69, maintained over such a long period, has him down as the worlds best ODI bowler, and a batting average of 26,33 with 14 fifties and 1 hundred (scored for an Africa team against Asia, his highest score for South Africa is 90) puts him up with the best ODI all rounders of all time.

Sachin's out of form == pontings form, then sachin form==?

AMAZING RECORD,AND THEY SAY HE SHOULD RETIRE!!!

ponting 128 5014 46.00
gilchrist 123 4429 38.18
sachin 99 4157 45.68
gayle 111 4032 40.72
yuvraj 131 4012 39.33
hayden 96 3831 44.03
symonds 123 3829 47.86
smith 99 3587 39.41
clarke 118 3512 44.45
kallis 93 3237 48.31
gibbs 96 3138 39.22
inzamam 94 2801 40.59
martyn 95 2737 41.46
dhoni 91 2653 43.49
kevin 66 2389 49.77

These stats are runs scored after the 2003 world cup.
if you see this SACHIN is the THIRD HIGHEST scorer.
but if you analyse it closely you will probably get these points.

1.check those who have scored more than sachin

->ponting 5014 runs in 128 matches.
If sachin had played 29 more matches[that is 128]
he had to score 857 more runs to beat ponting at an average of 29.55 runs per match.I think sachin is more than capable of doing it.so SACHIN CAN BE ABOVE PONTING.

->gilchrist 4429 runs in 123 matches.
If sachin had played 24 more matches he had to score
272 more runs at an average of mere 11.33.
SO SACHIN ABOVE GILCHRIST.

2.now check those who have played less matches than sachin.

->hayden 3831 runs from 96 matches.
to be above sachin he has to score 326 runs from 3 matches at
an average of 108.67[he can break sachins record of most runs in a year if he does that].I feel a minimal prob for this.SO SACHIN CAN BE ABOVE HAYDEN.

->kallis has 3237 from 93 matches.
to be above sachin he has to score 920 runs at 153.33.
that is impossible.SO SACHIN ABOVE KALLIS.

->gibbs has 3138 from 96 matches.
he has to score 1019 runs at 339.67 per match!!!
SO SACHIN ABOVE GIBBS.

->inzamam 2801 from 94.
he has to score 1356 at 271.2!!!
SO SACHIN ABOVE INZI TOO.

->martyn 2737 from 95.
he needs 1420 at 355!!![he has retired]
SO SACHIN ABOVE MARTYN.

SACHINS STRIKE RATE 83 DURING THIS PRD

->dhoni 2653 from 91.
he has to score 1504 at 188 per match!!!
SO SACHIN ABOVE DHONI.

->kevin pietersen has 2389 from 66.
now this comes close.he needs 1768 at 53.58 per match .
this is possible considering his average.but still it is tough to sore 54 runs per match consistently.

SO SACHIN IS THE BEST BATSMAN IF YOU CONSIDER STATS AFTER 2003 WORLD UP.THIS IS THE SAME PERIOD WHICH SACHIN WAS SCRUTINISED MOST SAYING THAT HE WAS OUT OF FORM,HE SHOULD RETIRE AND SO ON.

Many will have arguments saying symonds,dhoni,clarke,yuvraj etc bat at 4 or 5.But considering the fact that SACHIN TOO BATTED AT NO:4 FOR MOST OF THIS PERIOD THAT HAS TO BE NEGLECTED.

ANOTHER CASE FAVOURING SACHIN IS THAT HE WAS HAMPERED BY INJURIES DURING THIS PERIOD WHILE PONTING AND OTHERS WERE AT THE TOP OF THEIR FORM.

IF WE CONSIDER 2003 WORLD CUP ALONG WITH THIS THEN SACHIN WILL BE WELL AHEAD OF EVERYBODY AS HE WAS THE HIGHEST SCORER SCORING WHOPPING 662 RUNS.

STILL SACHIN IS BEING SCRUTINISED AND THE MEDIA SUGGESTING THAT HE SHOULD RETIRE.WHY...WHY???

PLEASE SUPPORT SACHIN ,HE IS A GEM BIGGER THAN THE KOHINOOR.THOUGH KOHINOOR HAS BEEN TAKEN AWAY FROM INDIA GOD PROVIDED US WITH AN EVEN BIGGER GEM.WE IDIOTS ARE TRYING TO SELL THAT!!! ..PLEASE SUPPORT HIM NOW,WHEN HE IS PLAYING.OTHERWISE YOU WILL REGRET ONE DAY HE RETIRES.

SACHIN TENDULKAR –“COMETH THE TIME, COMETH THE MAN”

"I was very very struck with his technique and I asked my wife to come and have a look at him because, I said, I never saw myself play but I feel that this fellow is playing much the same I used to play by looking at him”. Can you guess whose words are these??

These are the laudatory remark of the world’s greatest cricket SIR DONALD BRADMAN praising the little master Sachin Tendulkar.

Sachin - the name itself will strike terror for the oppositions. No matter if it’s the world champions or the minnows. He is India’s pride and the world’s envy. Representing team India from 1989, this eminent cricketer has scored more than 25,000 international runs and 78 International centuries. There is nothing this maestro cannot do - he is a belligerent opening batsman for one dayers, a credit worthy middle order batsman in test matches and a bowler who can bowl right arm medium pace deliveries, legbreaks, offbreaks and even googlies.

He is the youngest cricketer to wear a test cap for his country - Sachin Tendulkar was all of 16 years old when he took on the mighty Pakistanis in the first test at Karachi. He didn’t score much but straight away the signs were all there. He was not a flash in the pan but he had arrived and he was there to stay. He proved that when he flapped down a spunky half century on a moving greenish track in the 2nd innings of the 4th test against Pakistan. He had bailed the Indians out of trouble and availed them to save the test match. Sachin further enhanced his development into a master batsman during the 1991-92 tour of the Aussies which included an unbeaten 148 in Sydney and a world famous ton on the pacy and bouncy track at Perth.

Since then it is all Sachin’s show till now. He has performed deeds that border on the unimaginable in both forms of the game scoring 37 test and 41 ODI tons. He is undoubtedly the geek of world cricket for almost 2 decades. Every time he walks into bat, he carries the hopes of a billion people who look to him as the lonesome provider of hope in a nation surrounded by gloom, despair and politics and a nation so implausibly starved of heroes. Sachin is the ducky of the masses not just in India but the world over.

It is very hard to find a player with talent, power and modesty for eons and eons to come. Every one is saying cricket is a religion. If the statement is true then sachin is without question ‘the god of cricket’. “COMETH THE TIME, COMETH THE MAN!!!”. It is obvious that Sachin Tendulkar stands for Indian cricket and in fact for world cricket.

-Deebak Mohan
